I assert that the anti-choice movement is ultimately after our eggs, meaning, our fertilized eggs.
I say this based on two reasons:
1) In 2005, President George W. Bush continued to push for frozen embryo adoption (read the article below).
2) The anti-choice movement continues to (incorrectly) express that life begins at conception. While the current legislation targets 6-week pregnancy growth, I believe the real desire and future intent is for the states to have authority over any fertilized egg. After all, their strategy includes patience by chipping away at rights.
Here's the thing (let's do a refresher course on the biology): Scientifically, life does not begin at conception. Conception is what happens if a sperm and egg come together at ovulation. At that point, they are two wads of DNA, but a human will not come of that in this state. Pregnancy doesn't happen until about a week later in the 30-50% chance that the "DNA couple" makes it to the uterine lining and implants. This is the chemistry that must blend together for a pregnancy to begin.
But because the anti-choice movement keeps stating that life begins at conception, I believe that their wet dream would be to take charge of the whole operation (to take it off the hands of the women altogether since they can't seem to do the job well enough) and claim government ownership of all eggs at conception. And since there is no way to know if conception actually occurred, that would mean having jurisdiction over all reproductive-aged females.
Don't think it could happen?
Other countries with extreme fundamentalist values are in charge of everything females do, where they go, and what they wear.
Our American version of the Taliban has had this in the works since 1973. They've stuck to a well-funded and brilliant long-term strategy, gathering the right politicians for the job, placing the right judges on the benches, and financially backing the right radio and television talking heads to manipulate the reproductive facts. Even back in 2004, it was something like 19 states that were ready to overturn legal abortion when the timing was right.
This is not new. It's just now unfolding before our eyes.
Pro-Choice has always been about keeping the government out of our private lives and leaving personal decisions up to the citizens.

What I did not consciously know then but recognize now is that I refused to override the perfect balance of Original Design with baptism into Patriarchy, the most dangerous imbalance our world has known.
